Vector Networks Announces New IT Asset Security Division

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) March 3, 2008 -- Vector Networks (http://www.vector-networks.com) today announced the establishment of a new operating division to capitalise on its experience in providing integrated IT asset management, location and loss prevention installations. The mission of the Vector IT Asset Security division is to address the rapidly expanding demand for solutions to minimise or eliminate the risk of theft or accidental loss of IT assets and to provide location verification in support of regular asset audits.

The division will be led by Kevin Kiley, Vector's VP Sales for the Americas, who said, "We have found that the demand for these solutions is already becoming sophisticated, and organisations want more than just a standalone answer to the problems of loss and misplacement. There is a clear understanding that the benefits of introducing the specialists technologies involved are only maximized if the detection technology is integrated with a broader basis of IT asset management technology."

The division will use foundation Asset Discovery and Network Mapping technology from Vector's established IT Asset Management solutions family, integrated with selected location and loss prevention technologies. The precise technologies are specified on a project-by-project basis, drawing on Vector's relationships with leading specialists providers in areas such as dual-active RFID.

Kiley added, "Managers don't want yet another console or reporting interface to have to deal with. That's why we have incorporated asset location and movement information into our foundation asset database, enabling us to simply extend the family of reports in our Web-based Asset Information Portal. It's clearly beneficial to make this information available to both IT asset managers and Security managers."

Experience gained in providing solutions has allowed Vector to develop a portfolio of supporting services, ranging from establishing requirements through to post-installation review. Each project takes in a set of service components to match the level of involvement requested by the customer.

Asset managers being pressed to integrate asset security and loss prevention into their infrastructure should email itassetsecurity(at)vector-networks.com
