Sacramento Suburban Water District Leverages Technology to Improve Operational Efficiency and Manage Costs
Beltsville, MD (PRWEB) May 5, 2008 -- SSWD recognized the need for a comprehensive records management solution that would address the management of the District's voluminous documentation; integrate with third-party applications such as ESRI, Cityworks and AutoCAD, and provide workflows to manage public meeting agendas, minutes and associated documents. In addition, they needed an organization that could convert their existing drawings and documents through quality document scanning (http://www.databankimx.com/document_management2.htm) and provide secure audit and tracking capabilities for their information in an effective document management system (http://www.databankimx.com/software.htm).
Sacramento Suburban Water District (SSWD) is a publicly owned and operated water utility regulated by the State of California, providing reliable water services to approximately 170,000 people. With 45,000 service connections and 700 miles of pipeline, the District owns and operates water production, storage, treatment, and distribution facilities to serve its customers.
As stated by Robert S. Roscoe, General Manager for Sacramento Suburban Water District, "SSWD is taking yet another step to ensure we leverage technology to integrate our departments, provide information when and where it is needed, and ensure we drive efficiencies throughout our District. Leveraging the power of this new system, we can provide a safe, secure and efficient operation."
SSWD contracted with Frank Addamo, a records management policy and program expert from @doc LLC, an independent consulting services company. Mr. Addamo wrote the Request for Proposal, participated in the evaluation and selection process and continues to be involved in the deployment. Multiple proposals for this very comprehensive solution were evaluated. After a thorough review of all proposals, SSWD and Addamo selected DataBank IMX as the vendor best suited to meet all of their needs. Additionally, the evaluation team's visit to a similar account in Michigan, identified by DataBank IMX, reinforced that their proposed solution was the right choice.
The enterprise solution proposed by DataBank IMX is based on Hyland Software's OnBase platform, a portfolio of integrated modules that easily allows a phased approach. DataBank will analyze, design, implement, project manage, install and support this solution. Additionally, they will perform conversion services for approximately 900,000 drawings and documents critical to this project.
Ed Formosa, Assistant General Manager states that "Selecting DataBank IMX and OnBase is not just a decision for today, but part of our strategic plan to be an efficiently run water district, delivering high quality, reliable water supply and superior customer service at a reasonable price."
"We view our relationship with SSWD and @doc as a partnership" states Barbara Martin, VP for Government Business Development (http://www.databankimx.com/government.htm) at DataBank. "It is one in which we are focused on ensuring they are totally satisfied with the services we deliver and their decision to select us as their partner. This new system will link content and documents, establish records management compliance, and drive efficiencies throughout their organization."
